Thornapple Township is a civil township of Barry County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 7,884 at the 2010 census. It is the most populous township in Barry County. ==Geography== Thornapple Township is located in the northwest corner of Barry County. It includes the village of Middleville, population 3,319. Michigan state highway M-37 passes through the center of the township, leading southeast to Hastings, the county seat, and north to downtown Grand Rapids. The Thornapple River, a tributary of the Grand River, flows from south to north through the middle of the township. According to the United States Census Bureau, Thornapple Township has a total area of , of which is land and , or 1.80%, is water.〔
